Kale Crisps

Kale is a superfood superpower!

It is high in vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, calcium, and antioxidants.

I enjoy the flavor of kale both raw and cooked.  Kale crisps are a quick, easy, and nourishing snack that can be flavored to your taste preferences.

My friends Nicole and Blake shared this recipe with me and it’s delicious!

Kale Crisps

  • 1 bunch kale {variety of your choice}
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • Pepper to taste

  • Preheat oven to 225 degrees
  • Trim the stems off of the kale, leaving the leafy portion
  • Inspect the leaves to make sure there aren’t any lingering insect friends and add the leaves to a large bowl {I do this instead of washing the kale because the water reacts with the oil and doesn’t penetrate the kale}
  • Add the garlic powder, olive oil, salt, and pepper, massaging {with your hands} the ingredients into the kale leaves
  • Arrange 1 layer of kale on 2 cookie sheets and bake for 20-25 minutes or until kale is crisp, but not burnt

There typically aren’t leftovers kale crisps as they don’t yield huge quantities and they are a crowd favorite.

If you do have leftovers, use them as a dried herb on top of salmon, salads, or even pasta.  If you seal them in an airtight container, they will get soggy.

Enjoy and let me know how you like them!
